Thank you, Dad! via /r/gratitude

Thank you, pa! We’ve had our share of ups and downs, a silent distance between us that stretches long, but at the end of the day, you’re the best dad I could ever ask for. The best, seriously!

He is going through a really tough time with his health and watching him fight through it like a lion has been both heartbreaking and inspiring. The strength he carries, I’m not even sure if I could ever find something like it. TBH, seeing him in the hospital hurts, but strangely, it doesn’t fill me with fear. That’s because I trust him. I trust his resilience, his determination, and his ability to figure things out like he always does.

I’m incredibly thankful for everything he’s done to protect me. We don’t talk much, and when we do, it’s usually for a reason. But somehow, it always felt like it is enough. I may not be my father’s girl in the traditional sense, but he has prepared me for this world in ways I’m only now beginning to understand. He’s taught me to be strong, to be a tigress when I need to be, and for that, I’ll always be grateful. I’ll think about you everyday! I’ll try to be like you every single day of my life, and I want you to promise me to be around and protect me always. Thank you!
