As we settle into this beautiful Sunday, let's take a slightly different approach to our gratitude practice. Instead of just reflecting on what we're currently thankful for, today we're going to turn our gaze towards the future!
Today's Challenge: Future Gratitude Affirmations!
Let's spend some time today imagining things that we will be thankful for in the coming weeks and months. Think beyond the present moment and actively envision future positive outcomes with a sense of gratitude now.
How to Participate:
- Envision Your Future: Take a few moments to think about upcoming events, tasks, or goals in your life. These could be anything – big or small!
- Frame with Future Gratitude: Instead of just thinking about them, frame them with how you will feel with gratitude once they are accomplished.
- Go Beyond the Task: Connect the task with an even more exciting or positive outcome that you'll be grateful for.
Examples:
- Instead of: "I need to pay my electricity bill."
- Try: "I am so grateful that I will pay off my electricity bill, knowing that I'm one step closer to a cozy and comfortable home." Bonus: "I'm so thankful I'm going to go for a camping trip in the mountains after I pay off my electricity bill!"
- Instead of: "I have that work project deadline next week."
- Try: "I am so grateful that I will successfully complete my work project next week, feeling a sense of accomplishment and relief." Bonus: "I'm so thankful I will celebrate with a delicious meal after finishing that work project!"
- Instead of: "I need to schedule that doctor's appointment."
- Try: "I am so grateful that I will schedule my doctor's appointment, taking proactive care of my health and well-being." Bonus: "I'm so thankful I will feel peace of mind after my check-up at the doctor!"
