Grateful for a supportive partner/best friend via /r/gratitude

A few weeks ago I had surgery and one of the restrictions was no driving for four weeks. My husband is permanently disabled, doesn’t work, and I am his caretaker. When talking with my mom about how recovery is going she made a joke that she and her husband might have be throwing each other out the window by now if they were trapped together for this long, and that got me thinking. We haven’t had a single argument in the past three weeks. I haven’t had the energy to cook or make myself look pretty or clean or do anything fun. And yet, we have had a perfectly great time sitting around together eating sandwiches and frozen food watching reruns in our pajamas. I have a partner I am so comfortable with I never feel like I need to escape. After a lifetime of horribly toxic relationships, it’s so freeing to have found home in my person
