I’m grateful my husband has lost interest in setting off huge fireworks via /r/gratitude

I mean, I get it, they’re fun and really pretty and the excitement from blowing shit up is definitely palpable. It brings out the kid in him, and I love that about him.

Ive secretly always been really nervous around them, though. I like them from a distance.

Every year for the Fourth of July we go down to visit his daughters.

Every year we stop at the fireworks superstore and fill up two carts full of fireworks.

Every year he stays up late and sets them all off.

Today he told me that he’s not going to do that. He’s going to sit back and relax. And this makes me happy because I was always really worried that he’d get hurt.
