Gratitude Day 269 • Grateful for Watermelon 🍉 via /r/gratitude

Independence Day is a grand gesture to give thanks for our freedom. I celebrated today by watching a one canister of store bought fireworks from my balcony that were lit nearby. They were in perfect timing with the watermelon I had just sliced off that was so juicy it was dripping and so sweet it tasted like nature had given it a gold kiss of perfection.

Today, I am immeasurably grateful for watermelon – because in that moment, I was the child of one hundred lifetimes, watching fireworks like I had never seen them before, while eating summers finest fruit of the season that never seems to be missing from the best Fourth of July celebrations.
