Gifted Valuable Plants to Garden With

Today I went to a community dinner by an agency that promotes gardening and community food sustainability.

July 3 I learned that the bank needed more than I thought, as did hydro. Without buying food or transportation or any basic needs or any bill payment, I was left with $148 to last from July 3-July 30 plus mortgage payment due. Just one bill payment plan payment for phone was $150 for the month.

With holdem removed since covid from our city and no way to make extra income I used to make, I had been wanting to garden but unable to buy needed supplies.

I was so delighted to see rows of herb and vegetable plants put out, as we left, for anyone to take, free, anything they wanted. So happy to see that and so grateful. That was so nice.

I never get a ride from anyone and today I was given a ride to a far location where I needed to run an errand and would be too far to walk and get me home too late at night ( taking too long ) so the ride was so appreciated and helpful. As we were about to leave the parking lot, I saw all the commotion and people all bending down. I said -omg they have a whole bunch of plants out ! (not sure how that happened so fast as we walked past there just 7 min before ).

I was not expecting the man driving to say what he did ~ "Do you want me to turn around? Do you want to go and see"?

I was so grateful that he was offering and willing to go back, so easy going and that I had the opportunity to get some plants also, along side the other people. It was so very nice of him to 1st give the ride and then to turn around and go back and to offer-really was so surprised and appreciative.

We each got plants, not sure what he got.

I got to take home – tomato plants of 5 different varieties, pumpkin, 2 types of squash, parsley, oregano, not sure what else right now.

Really grateful to that agency for gifting us the plants for gardening and fresh produce.

The reason I said they were valuable is because they made gardening possible for me this year. I have a beautiful garden plot in a park like setting that is so soothing, nurturing, on hill top over looking our cities beautiful natural land formation referred to as a natural wonder within a massive serene ( on a sunny day) body of water…just a newly developed magical setting garden area and now I have plants and I can garden. What a blessing. Really quite delighted. Looking forward to all the gift of these plants may unlock in the way of what they may yield, in the joy of watching them evolve, in the stress relief from working the soil, tending the plants and the rest from such a lovely setting : )
