Lightning bugs via /r/gratitude

Is there anything more whimsical than a field of lightning bugs/fireflies on a summer night???

The world is rough sometimes but…we also have bugs that fly around and make glittery lights out of their butt? And they don’t bite or eat your house…? They just appear in the sky like 2 months of the year to remind you of summer magic and being young.

I hope I am always tickled by these creatures. And I am so thankful to now be able to watch my own little girls be enthralled by them. And that they are able to run around with grubby, popsicle stained hands and dirty feet trying to catch them.
