Grateful for all little things in life

I was in my late teens. One day I saw a young woman in the train who is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful ladies I have ever seen, impeccably dressed, with a silk scarf covering part of her left hand. I didn’t want to make it too obvious that I was secretly staring at her and was specially impressed by the way she was carrying the scarf. I kept on thinking “I wish I could be that beautiful, that glamorous, or even half of it”. We travelled like that for an hour. Then she got up to get down from the train. My eyes were still stuck to her in awe. And suddenly I realised the scarf is just her stylish way of covering her amputee arm! I felt like a punch in my stomach. Oh my god!! I have been thinking about “I wish I could be like her”! Immediately thanked god for every little thing in my life. I don’t need to be as beautiful as her, I am glad to have eyes to see, legs to walk, arms to hold things and overall whatever is truly needed in life..
