Grateful for the strangers I’ll never meet again

I was on the bus today and a guy held the door a few extra seconds when I was rushing to catch it. No words, just a small nod. Another time, a woman once offered me her umbrella when it started pouring and she was getting off at her stop. I’ll never see either of them again.

Lately, I’ve been realizing how many invisible hands like that have shaped my days without ever sticking around. The random cashier who cracked a joke when I was having the worst morning. The person who quietly picked up the thing I dropped without saying anything. Even the stranger who gave me directions years ago that helped me make it to an interview on time.

These people don’t know me, I don’t know them, but their little sparks of kindness stitched themselves into my memory. I think that’s something worth being grateful for, those small, fleeting connections that carry us a little further than we realize.

tl;dr: Grateful for the strangers who do small things that make a lasting impact, even though we’ll never meet again.
