Celebrating my sons birthday 17/09/05 via /r/gratitude

20 years ago, I was in 16 hours of induced labour with my son. He was a month early.

It was a difficult pregnancy because his father was cheating on me and I was raising our daughter on our own while he was o/s. When he was born, he wasn’t breathing.

To make matters worse, the GP at the local hospital stated that I just wanted an early birth to get my hands on the federal baby bonus. What he didn’t know was that I had Cholestasis of pregnancy.

My son is 20 tomorrow and I almost lost him twice.

My gratitude comes from my memory of after the doctors and nurses got him breathing and placed him in my arms, I said “Hello Ryan, I’ve been waiting for you”.

I love him so much.
