Flawed but human parents

I have been reflecting on my childhood. My parents were flawed. I thought as much growing up.

But with time comes perspective. I've come to see them as human. Flawed and trying. Like me.

They tried their best. Sometimes they failed. Like, I do , as a parent.

I'm grateful

For the effort they put in to raise us.
For putting their children first, even when they felt unfulfilled in their own lives.
For showing love in their own ways.
For working 6 days a week and still managing to keep life special.

And mostly, I'm grateful for them to have raised children.. who turned out mostly sane.

They weren't perfect. But they tried and they cared.
