Day 1 – I’m Grateful for Batteries
It was a long day, and I trudged down the road. My house came into view, and I hefted my backpack. School books dug into my back. I was tired, and wanted dinner. The sun had set hours ago, and the day just seemed to have no end. Between college and my extracurricular activities, I was beat. I reach home, and open the door. There's a rumble of footsteps, and mum bursts into the hallway, furious. My first thought, what the hell have I done? She starts to berate me!
"Why haven't you answered your phone, I've been calling for an hour!" She exclaimed.
"Ah… I dunno?" I check my phone, and remember, the battery had died.
Batteries have come a long way in 24 years (wow I'm old). Yet, we often don't consider how much they positively impact our daily lives. With a battery, we can disconnect our phones from the walls and make them cellular. With batteries, the laptop doesn't shut off when its unplugged by accident. With batteries can play games whilst on a flight, and enjoy our wireless headphones.
So, with sincere gratitude. Thank you, thank you, thank you God for blessing us with batteries in our devices, and may they serve us for eons to come. Thank you for reading.
