10 things I’m grateful to God for

So I read the Bible app and came across Psalms 100:4 which talks about being thankful and the activity was to write down 10 things I’m grateful to God for so here it is!

  1. Good health, I’m alive I’m breathing. I even had my personal best for running today. 9.7km/hr on a 3k. Never would’ve thought I’ll do that especially because I’m still kind of recovering from a very bad meniscus injury. All Glory to God.

  2. Family. My family had our weekly call yesterday every Sunday night. And I’m just very grateful to be surrounded by people that support and love me. I’m very grateful for my parents who have shown they want the utmost best for me over the years of my life and my sisters for giving me kind words from time to time and just being annoying at times haha tbh it can be kinda funny 😂😂

  3. Community of friends. I’ve really been reflecting on who my top 10 closest friends are. And I’m just happy that I’ve created such a wholesome bond with people. I really didn’t think I had up to 10 friends but I could count a good 15 friends that I could really be open with and have deep conversations with. It also made me realize the ‘friends’ I’m not really friends with and just had a superficial surface level relationship with. I’m very grateful for yesterday as well being on a weekly call with men from my background who are also serious about their faith. And I’m just grateful for the community and proud of myself for being intentional with my life and relationships.

  4. Growth. So for context I’ve been unemployed for about a year now. And I’m very proud of how my mindset has changed so positively. At first I really thought it was the end of the world and I felt so sad about my life. And now looking back I’m the happiest I’ve ever been! I’m so proud of myself for being intentional with my life as I decided to do therapy which really helped me and made me realize I had a victim mindset and now I’m just happy I find gratitude in the smallest of things which is why I’m even doing this rn haha. I love me!

  5. Habits and consistency . Again this goes with point 4. I’m very grateful for the liberty in finding gratitude in the littlest things and habits. Small habits really do make a significant difference with consistency and I’m just very grateful I can feel the change. So my habits are to read the Bible every day. The bible app has really really helped and the verse of the day today was to give thanks and the task was to write 10 things I’m grateful for. Wow I’m really liking this haha. Other habits I’ve taken on is meditating, journaling, reading (I’ve been into a lot of biographies recently and it’s just so inspiring to see how successful people started out with their own setbacks as well it’s really made me put things into perspective and life has its ups and downs and everyone has their own journey fr). I’m also very grateful for quitting bad habits like porn, I’m 73 days free and I’m so so happy for God giving me the strength to overcome this bad habit. I’ve also been taking meditating seriously and have been meditating and praying for 55 days now! Reading the FT, listening to podcasts and exercising has been great as well.

  6. Walking. So like i said earlier, I had a really mad knee injury and was on crutches for a while so could barely walk. Walking was literally the hardest thing ever at the time and it’s just made me realize that I had taken the smallest things for granted. When I recovered, glory be to God, it was so nice to start walking and I won’t ever take it for granted again. I’ve also started running and it feels so good to get better at it every day and also take care of myself.

  7. The weather. Haha I live in London and the weather can be a bit underwhelming at times. Butt recently it’s been sooo good. I love it when it’s sunny like rn haha and I love walking and just embracing nature as well so I’m just very grateful for the privilege to walk in and experience nature. It’s such a beautiful thing. God’s work is such a beautiful thing.

  8. Music. So I’ve been listening to a lot of amapiano/house gospel and it’s soo good. I’m grateful for music like that. I’ve also been trying to listen to less hip hop/rap vulgar music and so have been listening to more house, jazz music which is so soothing and I just love it. I’m very grateful to listen to music. It’s such a beautiful thing. Thank God.

  9. My apartment. I’m very grateful that I can live in such a nice place rent free with the help of my parents. They’ve helped me so much in this time I’ve been job hunting and I’m so grateful I can live in a very decent area in London in a really nice flat. I’m happy because there are loads of my friends around I play football with which I’m going to do tonight and I’m just so happy that it’s close to the station as well. Very grateful!!

  10. Getting a job!! I’m very grateful for getting a job at a top firm. It’s a summer internship tho but I’m still very very grateful for the experience. It’s in the team I’m very interested in and I can’t wait to apply all that I have from my past experiences in my new role and learn on a corporate job again. In this internship role I’m just going to take it day by day and focus on what I can improve on and what I learn every day be curious and take initiative. Regardless if if I get a return offer or not I’m still very grateful because I know God has a great plan for me and God is the greatest. So grateful!!

This was nice to do and I hope you can also find 10 things you’re grateful to God for 🙏🏾
