Advice for anyone wanting to keep a long journal of daily gratitude • Day 281
If you’re going to begin to make journaling gratitude a daily practice, write your pages at the beginning of each day, preferably near your time of waking.
For some time now, I have been noticing that at the end of the day, I’m tired from everything and the joy that I once received giving gratitude has become a chore instead of something I look forward to doing.
I’ve been wanting to change my nighttime habit, because gratitude should feel wonderful. Right now, I do not feel wonderful, and so reflected in my gratitude practice is my lack of joy. I’m sure looking back over my posts here I have noticed many low effort posts and this compounds my less than wonderful feelings.
When I noticed this, I began looking for solutions to fix this. I already have a morning ritual that during my AM coffee I recite some positive affirmations – which include gratitude. It has been mostly private but I am looking to find a way to shift my posts here to the beginning of the day…
Tomorrow I plan to have better, more joyful posts – coming from this moment and beyond.
