Even though I’m moving back into the office (45-1 hour commute!) after 6 years of remote work – I’m so grateful still.
Don't get me wrong – I really dislike having to wake up at 6:30 AM to get ready and arrive at the office by 8 AM. The morning traffic scares the hell outta me! But, I'm a huge history nerd and knowing how people worked back in the days of agriculture being the only job available for most people… I'm so grateful still to have been lucky enough to be born in these times.
I'm making a respectable amount of money just sitting in a nice AC'd office in front of a pc typing away. Beats getting a limb chopped off for some king's war or slaving away with crops in the sun any day here. The economy is ROUGH right now. I'm so grateful to have found this contract job. Even if I worked a single month out of my six month contract and it gets pulled due to all the politics happening, I'd have made more than enough to pay down my CC debt due to how much they're paying! Even better if I'm lucky enough to have them extend the contract or even hire me on as a permanent employee!
I also found this role after my first and only interview I've done since moving to Denver like a month ago… I'm cautiously confident I'll find another soon if anything happened to this one. I'm so grateful to have had the opportunities, education, and luck to get me to where I am now. I'm still in a slightly precarious situation with my CC debt and lack of savings, but I'll manage in time.
