Grateful for buses that run and there still being some left on the road in my city -lol
Our city's bus system is unacceptable bad. Today I went and stood across from an old hospital where the bus has always looped and it drove toward me but stopped a block before me and turned, drove away to go to the downtown station where I needed to be instead of going the loop and passing my bus stop. This made me now late for my appointment. I took a different bus, got to the station. The sign said connecting bus in 3 minutes. A group waited. The sign did not say cancelled. No bus came and the sign changed to 30 min. The driver told me many drivers did not show up and of 1 route that serviced and area 6 out of 10 of them were taken off the road. Got to my destination late, got out and missed the bus, had to walk blocks to where I could get another and transfer timed out due to time to get to other bus location. That's the back story. I could be mad.
But…..
Man, was I grateful when I saw the bus and didnt have to walk with painful joints all the way down town and miss getting my only meal.
I was so grateful there was a bus running, completely, so much.
I was grateful it was a kind understanding bus driver who allowed me to use the expired transfer as he was aware of the shortages.
So grateful for a bus and some kindness with no hassle.
We are lucky we have transportation, not all people or places do. Some walk hours or days with heavy loads. We are fortunate.
