Grateful for my home
My spouse and I had demanding jobs and then I left mine to be a trailing spouse. We moved often and his job dictated where we lived, like so many people. Finally, after many years of his travel and relentless hours, we moved to our home. It’s on a river and we can also see the connecting lake. The wildlife makes our house full of windows a gratitude observatory. Varieties of birds, eagles, owls, ducks, swans, geese…chipmunks, deer, rabbits, squirrels. But my most joyous discovery lately is the river otter that lives in front of our house. AKA, Otis Webbing floats and flips and dives with his little otter tail trailing as he dips below the surface. We watch Otis and know that the world can’t be all bad and for that, I am truly grateful.
