Grateful for poetry and Andrea Gibson. May they rest in peace via /r/gratitude

A beloved American poet passed away today at just shy of 50 years old. Their poetry was beautiful and their story is so tragic yet inspiring.

Here is a clip of them reading their poem about death and grief to their wife in their final TV interview. It moved me to tears.

I’m grateful for poetry and the poets who can spin magic with words. I’m grateful for grief because despite its painful nature it also makes me feel so alive. The grieve something or someone means you once knew and loved that thing.
