Grateful for the light that reminded me I’m still here

I was walking home last night after a long, draining day, one of those days where everything feels like too much. My head was down, scrolling through my phone, not really seeing anything around me. Then, I looked up.

The streetlights had just flickered on, and the sun was setting behind a row of buildings, spilling this soft orange glow over everything. It hit me in a way I didn’t expect, warm, quiet, steady. I just stood there for a minute and breathed.

It sounds small, but that moment reminded me how much I’ve missed noticing the world. The way light moves, the way it touches things and makes them look softer, calmer. I forget sometimes that there’s still beauty in the in-between moments, the pauses, the transitions, the endings that make room for beginnings.

I’m grateful for that light. For the reminder that even when I feel stuck in the dark, there’s always something trying to reach me, I just have to look up.
