Grateful for Zohran Mamdani and hope via /r/gratitude

Yesterday a candidate I am very excited for won the NYC mayoral primary election. I don’t live in New York but I have been following the race. I felt so so excited and hopeful. I was almost in shock that something good happened in the political sphere. I was doing a happy dance in my room by myself! Such a good reminder of hope and the power of the people to stand up to billionaires, corporations, and the powers at be. I understand people may have differing political views and opinions, but I’m sure everyone can relate to the excitement of a candidate they like beating the odds and how hopeful that makes you feel.
