Grateful that I have someone that takes care of me when I’m sick via /r/gratitude

When I get sick it gets pretty bad and I used to have a habit of hiding away like a dying animal every time. Especially after seeing a study that was something like 11% more likely for a man to leave his wife if she had a terminal diagnosis, so I always had this feeling that men in general were disgusted by sickness, regardless of it was their partner or not.

This is my second time getting really sick and my partner has been taking care of me relentlessly, with so much love, enthusiasm, and patience. He’s usually very scared of getting sick/anything gross but he’s right there the whole way. He’ll nap with me, cook for me, make sure I’m getting the things I need. The best part is that he’s not only like this when I’m sick. He’s always caring and loving. I’m so lucky to have someone that treats me with so much gentleness. Today we had a lot of plans together but when he found out I was sick, he was going to automatically cancel them, but I wanted him to go have fun. I had to beg him to go and have fun for the both of us. I’m so blessed and grateful to have him.
