Grateful to hear my old dog snore and feel at peace in life
For awhile I served in the army as a dog handler and I ended up getting to retire my first bomb dog. His name is Buddy and just recently turned 12 years old. While in the army he often slept in a concrete kennel full of quite noisy neighbors.
Even when he first retired 2 years ago he struggled to sleep, if I even moved a muscle he’d wake up regardless of the time of day. During that time I was going through a rough patch and I think he just wanted to make sure I was always ok. Buddy was the one guy I could always count on.
Recently I’ve finally found my peace in life. I’m out of the army, settled into a new job, and moved in with some friends/family. Life is good and for the first time, I think ever, my dog has been able to truly fall asleep without any worry in his mind. Snoring and farting to his hearts content. And I can’t express how grateful I am to know Buddy has found that peace aswell
