Gratitude Day 227

Fresh Oregeno is such an incredible herb to eat. I never had it strait out of a garden before but when I moved onto a banana and coconut farm two years ago, there was tons of it growing in several spots. I remember how interesting it was to look at because the plants were pretty big, and how soft it was to touch since the leaves were a little fuzzy. But what surprised me most was how thick and firm the leaves were. They are almost crisp! Cutting them up was very special. For some reason, I always gave thanks to them while I was chopping them up. I don’t know why really, I had given thanks before to other garden vegetables but it was never a habit. I mean EVERY TIME I would give the leaves love and thanks.

Luckily when I moved, the owner of the property let me take some with me. Now it grows in a big pot outside my front door. I tended to them today, all those luscious leaves… I am so grateful I have this plant and for all the joy it brings me ✨🥰🫶
