I’m grateful for being able to do something for homeless kids! via /r/gratitude

Please excuse long post. An elementary school nearby has one fifth of their students being bused in because they are homeless. I called the school to ask if they would like donations of warm handmade accessories (hats, mittens, cowls and so on) for kids who need them. I got a resounding yes!

I’m on Ravelry and I’m a member of Knitting for Charity. Since I don’t have a neverending supply of yarn, I asked if anyone would like to donate yarn specifically for this project OR mail completed items to the school. I’m amazed at how many people have started doing so! I thank God for all of these generous, good hearted people who are helping children who are going to be living in shelters, cars or tents this coming winter
