I’m grateful for not getting sick
I have autoimmune disease, and have flares triggered by traveling. I have to take a lot of precautions to mitigate this, including a lot of rest time during trips. My husband and I spent 3 days with our grandkids from out of state, and drove part of Route 66 while taking them home. The 3 days had very little rest, a lot of hours of me driving, and a lot of activity. This coupled with uncomfortable hotel beds, and unhealthy food, I’ve been expecting an awful flare.
So far, other than joint pain, I’m not sick! Usually I get terrible flu like symptoms, severe joint pain that makes normal activity (like walking, bathing) almost impossible, and respiratory problems that results in me being unable to leave home at all.
I’ve been home for a day, can still breathe normally, no fever! Just moderate joint pain from hips down! I can walk with assistance device, was able to make myself toast and tea for breakfast!
Y’all have no idea how incredibly grateful I am for this. The last time we made a similar trip I was sick for more than a month and had to do multiple breathing treatments daily, and even showering was impossible (I had to get a shower chair during that flare which was really hard for me to do emotionally)
My gratitude for this miracle is beyond words
