I’m grateful for the privileges I don’t have because they’ve made me see more clearly the privileges I do have. via /r/gratitude

There's so much I've taken for granted, like my sight, my hearing, my literacy, my general safety, my health and mobility, and so much more. Then there are those things I've never had the privilege of experiencing: emotional safety with my family or even the guarantee of physical safety. When I meet people who can feel safe and even deeply loved and protected with their parents and family, I'm happy for them. It's a privilege I'll probably never know, but I'm grateful for the privileges I do now know I have, even without dependable safety, love, and protection from family.
