I’m grateful to learn the term “linear park” is used to describe a rail trail via /r/gratitude

The reason why I feel a difference between the terms is that a rail trail can just seem like a long vanilla corridor. Conversely, a linear park makes it feel like every section, every gate, every historical artifact, every bench, every pond, every side trail, and many other nuances are special. It makes the 2D trail expand into 3D.
