Spent a restless night only to be met with good news this morning. via /r/gratitude

My mom was recently diagnosed with melanoma. My mom and i’s relationship has never been great, but naturally I was devastated by this news. On one hand I was grateful that a door to being more compassionate opened towards her when I’ve been upset with her for years. Today she got a call back that they can get her in for an appointment in July rather than September, and the cancer is still early enough it hasn’t yet spread to her lymph nodes. I’m really thankful for another chance for the both of us. You think you have problems until you have a serious health issue, then that’s your only problem. Very grateful for the good news and a humbling but not life threatening experience.
